| A "Potted" History of the Peppermill Restaurant. |

In 1975 Sam Mugarian, owner of a chain of restaurants known as The Harvest Table, established one of his restaurants on the outskirts of what was then downtown Bad Axe. In the last 35 years it has been doing business, the restaurant has evolved from The Harvest Table to The Round Table and in 1990 became known as The Peppermill Restaurant.
On May 1, 1994, Thomas McCollum became the proud owner. “I felt nervous taking on such a huge responsibility, but was looking forward to what the future would bring.” Tom stated.
Since '94 there have been many changes, but the owner and steady clientèle have remained. One major transformation was the addition of the banquet room. The construction for this began in the winter of 2005. This modification added private seating for an additional fifty people, increasing the total capacity to 160. The banquet room combined with a newly obtained liquor license, is making The Peppermill a great place for holiday gatherings, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, and other celebrations.
Tom continues to work hard at maintaining and improving the restaurant. Without fail, he is there seven days a week. Tom has made the restaurant a family business and now has the help of his sons.
